soapstone display

Last week we installed a new countertop display featuring a different variety of soapstone called Minas Duro. The Minas Duro is very dark once oiled, and highlighted by vibrant green undertones and detailed white veining. Click here to view slab photos of our current inventory.

On this new display, we opted to fabricate a chiseled edge. The chiseled edge is done by hand to create a natural, unrefined finishing touch.

A chisled edge compliments soapstone well. Since soapstone countertops have a honed, matte finish, your edge detail choice can vary from classic, to sleek, to rustic. Although the majority of our customers choose an “eased” edge with a simple squared-off profile of the 1 1/4″ thick stone, the chisled edge offers a unique alternative.
