Benefits of Soapstone Continued

No Stains

Soapstone is the only Natural Stone that will not stain or etch. It can be left in its natural state and does not need to be chemically sealed or protected. It is also naturally bacteria resistant, so no harsh chemicals are needed to keep it clean and disinfected.

Many people choose to oil their Soapstone Counters to darken and enhance the natural beauty of the stone. However this is not necessary and does nothing to protect or seal the stone.

Soapstone has minimal impact on the environment. Both the way soapstone is quarried and the absence of chemicals in the fabrication and care of Soapstone make it an environmentally responsible choice. This is why Soapstone continues to be used in Sustainable Architecture. View our blog for some examples.
