Thank you Stan and Estella for allowing us to Photograph your beautiful kitchen during our most recent follow-up visit! This past weekend, we went to Coloma to add Soapstone to a windowsill in the kitchen. With the whole family in attendance, we were able to get before and after pictures. The kids loved feeding the goats and Llama, traipsing around the property, seeing Dad in action, and “helping” install Soapstone. There are a few photos on this blog post, but for all the pictures of Soapstone, click here.

Porto Alegre Soapstone is in many ways similar to the other varieties of Soapstone we offer. Porto Alegre sometimes shows large dramatic white veins and sometimes more subtle white veins. Its distinguishing characteristic is the rust veining. Most of the slabs just have one or two areas with rust veins, so it isn’t overpowering. There are also hints of green in some of the Porto Alegre. To give you an idea how much rust you will see, this larger than average kitchen only has 2 areas where the rust veining is prominent. Close-ups of those areas are shown below.

The island in this kitchen has a laminated chiseled edge. Twice as thick as the standard 3cm Soapstone edge, the laminated edge gives this island a beefy look. The chiseled edge lends a rugged, home on the range feel to this antique-ey old west style home. The Soapstone chiseled edge removes any doubt as to whether or not the stone is “real”.

Thanks for sharing the Soapstone pictures on your site with us Kristi! Its nice to get some photos of the unoiled Soapstone after its been installed. The character and veining of the Soapstone really shows through and nicely compliments the white cabinets.
Beleza_Kitchen_Countertops_Soapstone This website shows a whole bunch of pictures before, during and after the kitchen remodel. Its still a work in progress, but about 90% finished! Congratulations of almost finishing. We can’t wait to see the final Soapstone photos with lighting and the last details. It already looks great.

If you want to buy Black Minas Soapstone anytime soon, come and check out our most recent shipment of Black Minas Soapstone slabs. Although all of the Black Minas Soapstone has similar character, this shipment seems to have 3 distinct levels of veining. One has thicker white veins, one is mostly dark with thinner veins and the other one just has to be seen in person. Call us if you would like to see more pictures of this Soapstone.
